This ride will leave Robin Park and use the canal towpath, shared paths and cycle lanes passing through Poolstock and Goose Green before climbing through Winstanley to Windy Arbour. Then we take to the road for a short while before turning off on to a quiet road/track to Carr Mill Dam where we will have a short stop for drinks. After drinks we will go to the start of the Sankey Valley Trail which will take us all the way to West Bank Boat Club at Spike Island. The return route to Robin Park will take us over Haydock Racecourse through Golborne to Viridor woods where a decision will be made on the exact route to take depending on the ground conditions on the day of the ride. We will have short stops for drinks en route and a longer stop for refreshments at West Bank Boat Club or one of the local pubs so please bring drinks or snacks or money to buy them. This ride will be a challenging ride for beginners due to the climbs involved at the start of the ride and the distance to be covered but the Sankey Valley Trail and most of the route is flat. This ride is a mixture of canal towpaths, quiet roads, short stretches of busy roads plus tracks and trails. Helmets must be worn on this ride and we never leave anyone behind. If you do book on the ride and then find that you have to cancel for any reason please take your name off the Lets Ride site as soon as possible so that someone on the waiting list can take your place.

A mixture of road and traffic free trail.

Refreshment stop planned, bring money or snacks.

We never leave anyone behind
