Southwark Park

THIS RIDE: an urban ride through quiet roads and cycle paths. Suitable for most skill levels but a certain level of confidence in traffic is required for some parts of it. All types of bikes are suited. Leaving later than usual to avoid the crowds around Buckingham Palace.

THE DESTINATION: We stop at Southwark Park for coffee and to look at the Ada Salter Garden, with great views of the boating lake. We will also make a short detour into Bermondsey Wall Street across the road to look at Dr Salter's Daydream statues and appreciate the views of the City's skyline from the Thames.

THE ROUTE: Hyde Park, Waterloo and Bermondsey on the way in, and Southwark Bridge and C3 on Victoria Embankment on the way out.

We aim to be back at Roundwood Park around 15.30.

If you find this ride fully booked, get in the waiting list as spaces always become available nearer the date. However, please do not sign up if you’re not sure you can join.

IMPORTANT POINTS: *Helmets aren't compulsory but advisable. *Check that your tyres are pumped and bring a spare inner tube and all necessary tools in case of a puncture. *If you can no longer make it for any reason, please cancel your space online so someone else can join. *Only riders who booked themselves on the ride will be allowed to join. *Unless the weather takes a nasty turn making it unsafe or unpleasant to cycle, this ride will go ahead even if it rains. Dress for the weather and bring a raincoat just in case. *Please be advised that we video record some of our rides which are later published on YouTube. By joining them you are authorising your image to appear on the video.
