Southbank Winter Market

A steady paced ride to the Southbank to visit their Winter Market. The majority of the ride is through some of the best cycle lanes in London, with just the odd busy road.

We head off to Hyde Park joining C3 between the park and Kensington Gardens, Green Park and Buckingham Palace. We cross Westminster Bridge to the South, and soon will be at Southbank. We will park our bikes near Southbank Centre and have a stroll around the market along the Thames Path – or find shelter at the café inside Southbank Centre if the weather is very cold/wet. Please bring a good lock (or a pair of them).

On our way back, we cross over Blackfriars Bridge, joining C6 to Clerkenwell and Bloomsbury, and then through Marylebone and Maida Vale back to Roundwood Park. We aim to be back before 14.30.

If you find this ride fully booked, get in the waiting list as spaces always become available nearer the date. However, please do not sign up if you’re not sure you can join.

IMPORTANT POINTS: *Helmets aren't compulsory but advisable. *Check that your tyres are pumped and bring a spare inner tube and all necessary tools in case of a puncture. *If you have Covid-19 or have been told to self-isolate, or can't make it for any other reason, please cancel your space so someone else can join. *Only riders who booked themselves on the ride will be allowed to join. *Unless the weather takes a nasty turn making it unsafe or unpleasant to cycle, this ride will go ahead even if it rains. Dress for the weather and bring a rain coat just in case.
