We ride through Ealing to visit Southall and Bunny Parks and along the Grand Union Canal. This is a steady paced ride through mainly quiet roads and paths, with a few busier roads, making this a good opportunity to gain some confidence in traffic. Skinny road tyres aren't suitable for part of this ride.
We head off through Ealing Common and Hanwell, joining the canal towpath where the Grand Union meets Brent River at Hanwell Locks. We leave the canal towpath and soon are at Southall Park, where we will have a quick stop to admire the mosaic globe.
We carry on into Brent Lodge Park, also known as Bunny Park, for a café stop. Bunny Park is the home of Hanwell Zoo and the Millennium Maze, where we might give it a go (bring a lock if you wish so).
After our break, we come back through Pitshanger Park and ride on a cycle lane in Park Royal taking us back into the Grand Union Canal until Harlesden. We aim to be back at Roundwood Park at around 3pm.
If you find this ride fully booked, get in the waiting list as spaces always become available nearer the date. However, please do not sign up if you’re not sure you can join.
