Always wear a helmet and suitable riding gear for the conditions. Carry some water and snack, bring cash & card for the cafe's. We are a social group and we ride together. All riders are individually responsible for their own bike maintenance and own safety. If a rider gets a flat we will pause and help if needed, but you the rider, should ALWAYS carry tools & spares to repair a flat ! (tube, puncture kit, pump etc) Your bike should have a bell to warn other trail users of our approach, and when its wet weather Mudguards should be fitted to prevent spraying other riders.
We love to meet new riders and you’re very welcome to join us, we HOPE YOU DO, but here’s a few things to consider first - Our routes are designed for pedal power Mountain Bikes, we don’t consider eBikes and their weight when planning our routes. We aren’t ‘thrill seekers’ but we do enjoy Off Road cross country trails. On the trails we will encounter some loose gravel, dirt/mud, stones, tree roots, and there could be overgrown vegetation too, so you'll need to be able to cope with these things. At various points on our routes we will need to negotiate a swing gate or two and some 'A' Frames, so you'll need to be able to pull your bike onto its back wheel to steer it through these obstacles. Occasionally we maybe even have to lift it over a stile. Our rides are definitely not a race, but we do usually average around 9-10mph on these cross country rides, so you need to be a competent and fairly fit rider. If these things sound OK to you and you fancy some off road cross country riding you are very welcome to join us. We look forward to meeting you
