Join us for a ride down the towpath into Leeds, then transpennine trail to Skelton Lake Services. The weather forecast is looking good for Tuesday. There is an option to extend the ride to St Aidans but that will be decided on the day
https://extraservices.co.uk/facilities/eat-drink/Using the lifts and bridge, we cross the railway line picking the path up to the towpath, we will head down it into Leeds, passing Kirkstall Abbey to the end of the towpath at Wharf Approach, turning right then left for a small section of road and cycle path, crossing at Bridgewater Place, pick up a short paved section running alongside the river, then another short section of road before joining the TPT at Royal Armouries and onto Skelton Lake and our coffee stop at the services
This is a lovely route to suit all abilities, don't be afraid of the mileage.
Retracing the route, we will encounter a couple of climbs on locks, taking them nice and steady
The towpath and TPT will be busy with walkers, runners, dogs and other cyclists but we will take it steady
There is a set of steps we will need navigate, but we will help each other out if required
This ride is ideal ladies returning to cycling after winter
Towpath and surfaced TransPennine Trail with a short road section between them
Skelton Lake Services - various cafes to choose from or bring your own snack
Pennies for a caffeine stop and sweet treat Spare inner tube, bike pump and levers
We never leave anyone behind
