This ride is part of the winter miles, summer smiles challenge; where those that rake part in four rides with Horwich Ride Social will receive a small cycling gift. You must also be a member of HRS to take part. If you are not already a member then please email [email protected] for a new rider form before the ride.

We will start the ride at Leverhulme Park and head out into Seven Acres Country Park and onto Longsight Park. On leaving Longsight Park, we will cross over into Bradshaw woods and follow the brook to Jumbles. Here, there will be a small section along the road, until we reach Greenmount and pick up the Kirklees Trail to Bury. We will leave Bury and pick up the Manchester, Bury, Bolton Canal to our cafe stop at Newbank Garden Centre. After our refreshment stop, we will continue along the canal towards Radcliffe and Nob end, before makin our way through Moses Gate Country Park and back to Leverhume Park.

Please arrive 10- 15 minutes before the start time to allow enough time to complete our compulsory safety checks. We will meet outside of the community centre before heading out across a number of parks and trails, before taking a brief refreshment stop part way round.

The route will comprise mainly of tails, canal paths with a couple of short sections on the road.

Helmets are not a legal requirement but they are compulsory to be able to join the ride.
