these rides are best suited to pedal powered bikes as there could be obstacles such as styles and swing gates to negotiate and occasionally we may have to lift the bikes over.
All our rides are planned to keep us off roads, especially main roads, and we tend to stick to dirt & gravel tracks & trails riding across country rather than on tarmac.
This particular ride from Greggs Beighton takes us into Rother Valley Country Park, then the tpt to Stavely, then a canal path down to Chesterfield. We then leave the canal and head up Tapton Gold course and over to Westwood, Poolsbrook, Clowne on gravel and dirt trails.
From Clowne we head through Barlborough Manor park to Woodall, Harthill, and Wales, then through a few field paths down to Aston fish ponds before heading back across to Greggs at Beighton.

RVCP, Chesterfield canal, Tapton Golf, Westwood, Poolsbrook, Clowne, Woodall, Aston, 30m

Off road tracks trails paths bridleways canal path woodland trails, tpt, and even a bit of gravel

coffee stops at Kateys cafe, Hollingwood Hub nr Staveley, and at Ashgate coffee shop in Clowne.

This time of year its good to have mudguards fitted so that you dont cover your fellow riders in mud spray. Lights and a bell are recommended so that you can warn other trail users of your approach. And you really ought to wear a helmet, gloves, decent footwear, and warm clothing suited to the weather forecast. Always make sure you have the means to repair and re inflate your tyres should you get a flat. Bring cash/card for coffee stops.

First-timers welcome!
