The distance to the cafe stop in Rivington is approx 13 miles riding mainly along country lanes with some busier roads thrown in. The majority of the climbing is done in this part of the ride. The route heads initially to Buckshaw and then continues though Whittle Le Woods, Wheelton, Heapey Cowling and onto Rivington. After our stop at the Village Tea Rooms we continue up Sheephouse Lane and cut round to Anglezake, returning back to the start point via Adlington, Coppull, Charnock Richard and Eccleston. The return journey is mainly downhill!
Although helmets are recommended by law, anyone not wearing one will not be able to join the ride.
Please be self sufficient and arm yourself with spare inner tubes, bike levers and pump. Please bring along a drink for the ride and means of payment for the cafe.
