SN2 2QP

An easy-going Xmas family fun bike ride around North Swindon, featuring an introduction to the Swindon Orienteering Points. Come and join a great team of experienced ride leaders, as they attempt to find the designated orienteering points on the route. Can't guarantee we will find them all, but we will have fun trying to! As its Xmas, feel free to spruce up you bike and yourself with a bit of tinsel etc.

We will leave the Moredon Sports hub at 12:00hrs (plenty of free parking and facilities), traveling up through Moredon via cycle routes and quiet / traffic free roads. We will then discover the extensive cycle paths network around north Swindon, looking for some of the cycle orienteering points located around the area, courtesy of Swindon Borough Council.

This ride is part of the Swindon Travel Choices 'Gear Up This Winter' event at the Moredon Sports Hub. Pop along between 11am and 2pm, where you will be able to:
- Pick up brand new orienteering maps, the cycle map and maybe a festive treat
- Get your bike checked, tweaked or fixed with Doctor Bike
- Free goodies and refreshments!
- Get your bike security marked (like pet chipping for bikes!)
- FREE festive arts & crafting activity
- FREE Family cycling on the traffic-free cycle track (bikes and adapted cycles available to borrow or bring your own)
- FREE Knobbly Tyres family MTB ride (starting at 10am – See https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/knobbly-tyres-family-mtb-trail-ride-tickets-1977388417988)

If you have them, please bring a spare inner tube and a pump which works for your tyres; Helmets are recommended; and of course wear appropriate clothes; a good pair of gloves will be appreciated by your fingertips. Don't forget your phone and some cash or plastic for your refreshments. Children under 16 are more than welcome; all children must be accompanied by an adult (ratio 1 adult:3 children) and were an approved cycling helmet (CE mark inside) . It is recommended that adults wear a helmet.
