Santa Special to Caerphilly Castle

We intend to make this one a Christmas themed ride, so fancy dress welcome - just make sure that it's bike friendly and safe to cycle in!
The ride starts from the car park at Forest Farm and sets off along the Taff Trail, through Tongwynlais , up Nantgarw to Caerphilly. Mostly off road on cycle paths there are several on road sections, therefore this is not suitable for children under the age of 8 ( and children over 8 and under 16 must attend with an adult aged over 18).
Setting off from Caerphilly we follow the same route back initially before diverting across to follow the cycle path past Nantgarw China Works and pick up the bottom Taff Trail route back to Forest Farm .
A nice easy ride with only one steady climb from Taff's Well to Caerphily which has a gentle gradient. We plan to have a cafe stop at the Plan2Ride cafe in Tongwynlais. Suitable for all types of bicycles, but there are gates in place on some sections of the trail that may be impassable for recumbents and trailers.
