Saltaire to Leeds Waterfront Towpath Ride

Starting point

Starting from - All Terrain Cycles, Salts Mill, Saltaire. If arriving by car please approach along Salts Mill Road from the east and use the large free carpark beyond the security hut.

Our ride today will take us along the towpath all the way into Leeds and calling in for a snack at the Golf Cafe, though there are plenty of places around the waterfront to refresh ourselves. It will be about 26 miles but will be at an easy pace. Listed as 'Challenging' because of the distance - it is virtually flat! No one gets left behind! We are out to enjoy ourselves. There could also be an opportunity to show you how to get to the railway station for an easier option home.

I would advise that you bring a drink and a snack for top ups along the way, also some money for refreshments when we stop.

Newcomers to Breeze rides are very welcome, you just need a roadworthy bike with a spare inner tube of the correct size (just in case). Dress appropriately for the weather: several thin layers are best and a rain jacket could come in handy. The towpath can get muddy after rain, so please bear this in mind when choosing what to wear for the ride. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part. If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.
