On leaving FC United at Broadhurst Park, we will immediately be cycling along a busy road, with some junctions and traffic lights, for about a mile, before joining the Rochdale Canal.
This A to B return route is mainly a flat and easy going ride along various non tarmac surfaces. There is some elevation, mainly in the park itself leading up to the cafe, but nothing too strenuous. No one will mind if you prefer to push. Do be prepared for some mud and puddles along some of the paths.

Join me on a steady traffic free ride along part of the scenic and flat Rochdale Canal to Chadderton Hall Park.

This route has various surfaces including, tarmac, cobbles, gravel and uneven canal tow paths. There will be some road riding between points, but the majority of this ride will be on uneven, gravel and some muddy surfaces, unsuitable for road/racing bikes,

Our scheduled stop will be at the Cafe at Chadderton Park, where there will be an opportunity to grab some light refreshment and make use of the facilities.

Forecast for Friday suggests there could be some light showers... but we live in Manchester, so expect the unexpected. Unless there is a weather warning from the Met Office, the ride will be going ahead as planned. Please wear/bring additional: Suitable clothing for cycling, for the current days climate. Remember to layer up and don't forget a jumper/jacket for when we stop, as that's when you can feel the cold. Bring your water bottle/energy bars. If you want a cuppa at the cafe, please bring both cash and card. The cafe operates a cash only system, but on a couple of occasions I've known it to be card only! They do not allow the consumption of non purchased items to be consumed on their premises. If you are asthmatic or diabetic or have any medical needs, please ensure you bring your required medication. You will be able to privately and confidently let us know when you arrive about your condition, should anything occur on our journey where you may be in need our help with assisting/administering.

We never leave anyone behind
