This ride will leave Robin Park and follow the canal towpath through Crooke, Gathurst and Appley Bridge to Parbold where we'll take some quiet country lanes to Chorley junction and climb up to our destination.
The return journey will be on quiet country lanes through to Old Pepper Lane where we join the Standish Mineral Line through to Beech Hill. We'll then make our way to join the Whelley loop line, checking out the new Bee Network extension. We'll join the Wigan locks flight and enjoy the ride back down the towpath to Robin Park.
We may decide to change the route to an anti clockwise direction.

This is a challenging route due to the various climbs along the route.climbs

The ride is a mixture of canal towpath, quiet country lanes with various gradients, a short stretch of busy main road and newly laid tarmac cycle paths along woodland trails.

We will have short stops en route and a longer stop for refreshments at Eccleston Delph. Please bring snacks/drinks or money to buy them.

Pump up your tyres, check your brakes and make sure your bike is in good working order. Please carry inner tube and/or puncture repair kit.

We never leave anyone behind
