This ride takes us from Curleys cafe at Wallsuches over the recently restored Smithills Woods. Down to one of my favourite and little known descents from Bolton Golf course to Barrow Bridge. We cut through to Smithills and then return back towards Rivington. Finishing at Curleys where we can have an after ride scoff. Quite a lot of climbing and gnarly terrain. Suitable for a fit cyclist and/or someone use to mountain biking.

Check your bike and ensure it is in good working order. You ride at your own risk. If you feel something is beyond your capabilities then get off and walk. We will wait for anyone and not leave anyone behind. Bring an inner tube that fits your bike as they are all different.

Please be aware the time is only an estimation as we can't account for weather or mechanical issues.

Suitable for mountain bikes and E-MTB.

A lovely 10 mile loop taking in the Smithills Woodland Estate and part of Rivington

Mountain bike only, it is suitable for e-bikes. Mainly off road, nothing to technical. Some sections on quiet country lane's.

No cafe stop planned. Its only a short ride. There a cafe at our start and end point so bring a bike lock.

Helmets please, no helmet no ride. Inner tube and pump to fit your bike, as bikes do vary. Snacks and drink. Money for the cafe afterwards.

This will suit people who have done some mountain biking and have bike fitness. I grade it as Blue skill level, but quite a bit of climbing.
