Riding the Lines to Monton. Mid Week Meet Up.

Join us for the Mid Week Meet Up ride from Queens Park to Monton. 19 miles , 698 ft elevation. Starting point Queens Park Pavilion Café. Toilets available. We suggest if you are coming by car that you do not use the Spa Rd car park as there is a time limit of 3 hours. Park in the Queens Park car park at the end of Park Street and then cycle through the park to join us. Leaving Queens Park we skirt Bolton town centre and head over to Farnworth picking up the first of our cycle trails and passing the hospital. Using the Roe Green loop line we head over to Parr Fold Park. From there we make our way to join the Bridgewater canal towpath heading into Monton via Worsley canal basin. The Worsley golf club venue will be our cafe stop around halfway along the route, We will also stop at intervals to take in the views and to take photographs for our social media. If you would prefer not to have your photo taken, please inform your leaders on the day.

We will use a mixture of roads, trails, canal tow path and shared paths.

Be sure to equip yourselves with spare inner tubes, tyre leavers and a pump in case of mechanical breakdown. Also please check your bike over the night before to avoid delays at the start. As on all HRS rides helmets must be worn - no helmet no ride! Please also bring along a drink, and some form of payment at the cafe. If you are not already a member of Horwich Ride social, then please email horwichridesocial.com for membership form prior to the ride. You can also download a form from the website, horwichridesocial.org fill it in and return before the ride. Should you be unable to do this a paper form will be provided on the ride.
