This ride will leave Robin Park and follow the Leeds and Liverpool canal to Crooke Village where we leave the towpath and follow the trail to Shevington and climb through Elnup Woods to the Standish Mineral Line. From the M6 motorway bridge we will be on minor country lanes to Eccleston Delph Diving Centre. After a short stop we continue on quiet country lanes to St Mary's Marina where we will have a longer stop for refreshments.

The return journey takes us to Meadow Lane, Hollowford lane, Back Lane and Alder Lane before joining the towpath back to Robin Park.

As usual photos will be taken on the ride and will be posted on the Wigan and Leigh Cycling Group Facebook page - please notify the ride leaders if you do not want your photo taken.

A chance to see the canals and countryside in the Wigan and district area.

The ride is a mixture of canal towpath, quiet roads, short stretches of busy roads and tracks and trails. There will be short stops en route and a longer stop for refreshments so please bring drinks and snacks or money to buy them. New riders are more than welcome on our rides and we never leave anyone behind. Helmets must be worn on this ride.
