Ride to Haigh Food and Drink Festival and returning through the Wigan Pride event

The ride will leave Robin Park and follow the River Douglas to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towpath where we will climb up some of the locks of the Wigan Flight to Whelley Loop Line which takes us to Hall Lane. From Hall Lane we cycle to Haigh Stableyard where we will stop for refreshments.

The return journey will be down the main drive, crossing the brook to the cycleway alongside the River Douglas to Powell Street. We carry on through Standishgate, Millgate, Library Street, King Street and the Wallgate cycle lanes back to Robin Park.

The town centre route is subject to change and cyclists may have to dismount in the pedestrian areas.

As usual photos will be on the ride and will be posted on the Wigan and Leigh Cycling Group Facebook page - please notify the ride leaders if you do not want your photo taken.

The ride is a mixture of canal towpath, quiet roads, tracks and trails. There will be short stops en route and a longer stop for refreshments so please bring drinks and snacks or money to buy them. New riders are more than welcome on our rides and we never leave anyone behind. Helmets must be worn on this ride.
