Ride to Greenslate Farm via Orrell Water Park

The ride will leave Robin Park and follow the River Douglas to the Leeds and Liverpool Leigh Branch Canal towpath and then shared paths and cycle lanes on the Westwood Way A49 bypass to Goose Green roundabout then following Little Lane, Tunstall Lane to Highfield Gardens park. We then take Leopold Street and the Brook Lane/Hall Lane track to Winstanley Tennis Club. After crossing the road and going through Orrell Water Park we reach Greenslate Farm.

The return journey is via Edge Hall Road, over the "Banana Bridge" and back to Leopold Street . We go back down Westwood Way but turn off to cross Parsons Meadow and the Red Ponds on our way back to Robin Park.

This ride is a mixture of canal towpath, shared paths, cycle lanes, quiet estate roads, tracks and trails.

There will be short stops en route and a longer stop for refreshments at the Straw Bale Cafe at Greenslate Farm.

Please bring drinks/snacks or money to buy them. Helmets should be worn on this ride.

New riders are welcome on our rides and we never leave anyone behind.
