The ride will leave Robin Park and follow the Wigan Pier to Southport Pier Cycle Route 562 before turning on to the Lancashire Cycleway Route 91 and then the Trans Pennine Trail and then on to our refreshment stop near Freshfield railway station in Formby.

The return route will take us on the forest trail through Formby woods to see if we can spot any of the elusive red squirrels and then back to Robin Park.

The ride is mainly flat and takes us through some beautiful countryside and farming land.

As usual photos will be taken on the ride and will be posted on the Wigan and Leigh Cycling Group Facebook page - please notify the ride leaders if you do not want your photo taken.

The ride is a mixture of canal towpath, quiet roads, short stretches of busy roads and tracks and trails. There will be short stops en route and a longer stop for refreshments so please bring drinks and snacks or money to buy them. New riders are more than welcome on our rides and we never leave anyone behind. Helmets must be worn on this ride.
