Ride to Billinge Beacon

The ride will leave Robin Park and follow the River Douglas, the Leeds and Liverpool Canal Leigh Branch and the Westwood Way A49 bypass to Goose Green roundabout then Little Lane, Tunstall Lane to Highfield Gardens park. We continue through Orrell Water Park and then begin the climb up to the Beacon. After a rest we will descend to the nearby Holts Arms for refreshments.

The return route will be via Edge Hall Road, past St Peter's High School then back to Robin Park.

Poolstock Lane - chicane
Highfield Gardens - 2 x chicanes
Rivers Street - XL kissing gate (most bikes fit through)

A ride to the highest point in Merseyside at 587 feet above sea level where on a clear day you can see for miles in every direction.

The ride is a mixture of canal towpath, quiet roads, short stretches of busy roads and tracks and trails.

There will be short stops en route and a longer stop for refreshments at the Holts Arms.

Please bring drinks/snacks or money to buy them. Helmets must be worn on this ride.

New riders are welcome on our rides and we never leave anyone behind.
