Ride to Bents Artisan Market

The ride will leave Robin Park and follow the River Douglas to the Leeds and Liverpool canal Leigh branch to Pennington Flash Country Park and on to Leigh Sports Village, the new cycle lanes, Mather Lane and Warrington Road. After crossing the East Lancs road we cycle round Windy Bank woods before stopping for refreshments at Bents Artisan Market.

The return journey will be on the East Lancs cyclepath to Atherleigh Way where we pass under the East Lancs road and follow the trail to Leigh Fire Station then to Pennington Flash Country Park and back to Robin Park.

Barriers:-
Bamfurlong Bridge - steps up/down to the road bridge.
Dover Lock - low stepover horse stile
Plank Lane lift bridge - low stepover horse stile

As usual photos will be taken on the ride and will be put on the Wigan and Leigh Cycling Group Facebook page - please notify the ride leaders if you do not want your photo taken.

A ride to a local Artisan Market

The ride is a mixture of canal towpath, quiet roads, short stretches of busy roads and tracks and trails.

There will be short stops en route and a longer stop for refreshments at Bents Artisan Market.

Please bring drinks/snacks or money to buy them.

New riders are welcome on our rides and we never leave anyone behind.
