This ride will leave Robin Park and follow the River Douglas then going through Westwood into Amberswood and follow the Route 55 cyclepath to Wigan locks. Just before the locks we turn towards Ince Hall Avenue and cross the main road into Anderson Street and go through the estate to William Fosters Hub for our refreshment stop.

Our return journey will see us go down Ince Green Lane and past Wigan Crematorium and around Pearsons Flash. At the canal we will follow the newly resurfaced offside canal towpath to the A49 bypass bridge and then cycle to the Red Ponds and for a change we will cross the River Douglas and pass the New Cottonworks entertainment venue before returning to Robin Park.

Barriers:-
Route 55 at Wigan Road - 2 x horse stile with low stepover
Route 55 at Belle Green Lane - 2 x horse stile with low stepover.
Pearsons Flash - extra long kissing gate(most bikes will fit).

As usual photos will be taken on the ride and will be put on the Wigan and Leigh Cycling Group Facebook page - please notify the ride leaders if you do not want your photo taken.

A ride round some of the Wigan flashes.

The ride is a mixture of canal towpath, quiet roads, short stretches of busy roads and tracks and trails.

There will be short stops en route and a longer stop for refreshments at William Fosters Hub.

Please bring drinks/snacks or money to buy them. Helmets should be worn on this ride.

New riders are welcome on our rides and we never leave anyone behind.
