LE1 5BP

This ride is a tried and tested favourite with the cycling community in Leicester. It has been running for more than ten years and gained added lustre when in 2012 the King's skeleton was found under a car park not far from St Martins/Grey Friars.

This is a longer ride that crosses major roads. However the route is designed to run mainly on quieter country roads and cycle ways in Leicester.

The ride will take you back to 1485 and the end of the Plantagenet dynasty. Starting in the centre of Leicester you will pass the site of the car park where King Richard’s body was discovered. Using mainly quiet roads and traffic free paths you will arrive at the hamlet of Sutton Cheney and the Church where, legend says that the King took his last communion prior to the Battle of Bosworth. From the Church it’s a short ride to the site of the Battle.

When you return to the city centre, Leicester Open Streets takes place from 1-4pm.

Helmets are advisable not compulsory. Bring a spare tube, water and some money if you'd like to buy from the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre. Unfortunately we are not able to loan bikes for this ride.

We never leave anyone behind
