Ernest Gimson (1864-1919) – An introduction to the Life & Work of Arts & Crafts leading light & ‘The Greatest of the English Architect-Designers’ !

This ride will introduce his early life, from the family home on New Walk, early working life at Grey Friars, the significance of an inspiring William Morris presentation at Secular Hall and visit two of Gimson’s signature designs - The White House in Clarendon Park & Inglewood in Knighton.

This ride compliments the cycling tour to Ernest Gimson’s National Trust owned masterpiece – Stoneywell – also, taking place this summer. It may appeal to budding urbanists, architects or fans of the functional moustache. Flat caps & tweed are recommended but not compulsory.
