Starting point

Durham
DL1 4WD

Starting from the Beefeater pub at Morton Park, we'll ride out east towards Stockton-on-Tees, travelling through Long Newton, Elton, Hartburn, then the old railway lines and into Preston Park. The return journey bring us back through Eaglescliffe and Urlay Nook, before joining up with Long Newton again on the way back to the Beefeater.

This ride is classed as a STEADY ride which is just short of 20 miles (around 10 miles each way). The ride is generally quite flat. There is a mix of terrains, riding on the road, cycleways and old railway lines (can be a little rough) so a hybrid-type bike is recommended, although all bike types are suitable. It is suitable for riders who are comfortable sustaining around 10mph avg. and can continually cycle for around 1.5 hours each way. Bear in mind this time is a guide and can be longer if mechanical issues occur with any bikes on the ride or weather conditions slow the group down.
