Red Challenge Ride - 100 Miles of Smiles

This is the CHALLENGE RIDE 100 MILES we have been preparing for in 2018. It will be split into two parts, forming two different loops touching Brigg, to allow riders to assess their energy and fitness as we go along.

Road bikes are necessary for this ride. For the safety and comfort of ALL riders, you must ensure your bike is fully maintained and roadworthy before the morning of the event. This includes ensuring all bags and attachments are fully secured, tyres are fully pumped, chain appropriately lubricated, etc. Given the distance, you will also need a minimum of two large drinks bottles, and enough snacks/ food to sustain you. There will be breaks planned in, but some of the riding may take place after our usual cafe stops have closed.

For this ride, a helmet is compulsory. Be prepared to change your innertubes if necessary en route (so carry spares, pump, and other tools), and bring cash for the cafe stop. You will also need a backup plan in case you need to be picked up during the ride, and each rider is responsible for organising their own Plan B.

If you have any specific medical requirements which may be relevant to the ride, please ensure the ride leader is aware of them at the start of the ride – feel free to have a quiet word.
