This ride is part of Horwich Ride Social’s 'Winter Miles Summer Smiles' winter cycling campaign. If you complete 4 of our community rides over January and February then you will receive a small gift.

If you wish to re-kindle childhood memories, playing out with your friends, exploring your local area, then this is the ride for you.
A true adventure utilising as many farm tracks, bridleways, country park trails and back lanes as possible to arrive at our rest stop at the Hive Cafe, Pennington Flashes, where hot drinks and snacks will be savoured.
There are a couple of connecting roads to cycle on which can be busy, so confidence on the road is required.
If you don't mind a few pot holes, numerous puddles, muddy trails and some shaley paths, then this is the ride for you. Ideally suited for gravel bikes, hard tail MTB or hybrid with wide off-road tyres.
Obviously from the ride description, this is suitable for OFF ROAD tyres only to ensure comfort and safety.
Please dress for the weather and ensure you have adequate clothing, tools/supplies for your own bike and a snack/refreshments for the ride.
E-bikes are welcome but you must be able to lift your own bike over low bridleway gates. There are one or two tight swing gates so if you can't get through, an alternative route will be suggested where possible for that section.
Any questions/concerns, please either email: [email protected] or message the ride creator on let’s ride and NOT the Ride itself.
