You will start at the historic Portland Basin Museum where you can find lots of information on the history of Tameside and the ways we used to live. From the museum you will join the Ashton Canal west. Along here the you'll discover a scenic pleasant route through the suburbs of Tameside, cycling along the traffic and noise free towpaths. At Fairfield you will jump off to discover the Fairfield Moravian Settlement, an established church dating back to 1785.
