Starting point

London
NW1 5SB

This is a slow sightseeing ride around the Penguin Sculptures of the 'Fleet Street Quarter' in aid of WWF, which is fundraising to preserve their habitat in Antarctica. https://www.fleetstreetquarter.co.uk/events/the-fleet-street-quarter-penguin-parade-sculpture-trail We begin at Baker Street and take the Cycleway 3 along the Embankment to Temple, cycling up to Fleet Street and visiting a selection of Penguins with plenty of photo opps. There is also a wealth of historical sights which we can share, before our refreshment stop in the Wren Cafe, in St Nicholas Abbey, a church designed by Sir Christopher Wren near St Paul's. After the cafe we cross the cycle-friendly streets of the City of London to arrive at Aldgate station for the train home. We shall need to carry our bikes up the steps at Baker Street and down at Aldgate but people will help if needed. Don't forget to check the weather forecast and wrap up warm!

A sightseeing route round the penguin sculptures in the Fleet Street area

About half the route is traffic-free and the rest is on quiet streets, with a small amount in traffic

After we've seen the penguins we'll have refreshments in the Wren cafe

Bring water, card for the cafe, a bike lock and gloves

We especially welcome newbies!
