Peddle & Pootle to St Leonard’s Church

Meeting at FCUtd for 10:30-10:40

Cycling along Nuthurst Road to get onto Rochdale Canal at Waters Edge.

It will take about 10 mins to get to Waters Edge, so if anyone travelling along the canal, wants to meet here please let me know.

From Waters Edge we cycle all the way along the canal before jumping onto Rochdale Road for a short distance before exiting onto Thornham Lane, to lunch at The Coffee Cupboard in Smalley Hall, Middleton. This stretch will take about 40-50 mins… there is NO RUSH… planning to arrive between 11:30-12:00

After lunch, we will cycle back on Rochdale canal to Boarshaw Road exiting onto Bardsley Street to St Leonard’s church for 13:00ish.
PLEASE NOTE:
Bardsley Street is an IMMEDIATE steep climb, which levels out a little before continuing up to the church.

Leaving the church around 14:00 we will cycle back the 5 miles with a little stretch of main and busy road cycling along Townley Street, before exiting onto a quieter Kirkway and prettier side streets before crossing at Tescos on Rochdale Road /Victoria Avenue East and sliding into Charlestown

EDIT:
St Leonard’s is only open to the public for viewing for a limited time in the summer season, on Fridays from 13:00hrs to 16:00hrs.
I have rang and confirmed our attendance and that the church will be open.
