This ride will leave Robin Park and use the canal towpath, shared paths and cycle lanes passing through Poolstock and Goose Green before climbing through Winstanley to Windy Arbour. Then we take to the road for a short while before turning off on to a quiet road/track then along the roadside cycle lane to Carr Mill Dam.
We will follow the Sankey Valley Trail through to Mesnes Park in Newton Le Willows and visit an interesting sculpture in the park.
The return route will take us over Haydock Racecourse through Golborne to Viridor Wood and back to Robin Park on the canal towpath.
We will have short stops en route and a longer stop for refreshments at a venue to be decided so please bring drinks and snacks or money to buy them.
This ride may feel challenging for beginners due to the climbs involved at the start, but the majority of the ride is flat.
The ride is a mixture of canal towpaths, quiet roads, short stretches of busy road plus tracks and trails.
Helmets must be worn on this ride and we never leave anyone behind.
