The route is fairly flat for the first 9 miles then we tackle the only real hill on the route. After that, there are a couple of small inclines and then we finish on the flat again. The ride heads out from the velodrome car park to join the cycle path into Newport along the side of the river. We then continue following the path into Caerleon. After we cross over the river, we cycle up Bulmore Road to reach the turning to Catsash. Here's the climb - just over 1/2 mile long but with a nice downhill to follow. Then it's a gentle rise to the coffee stop.
After a short break, we set off downhill and past the crematorium. Then we turn right towards Underwood and our last little incline. From here we pass through Bishton and then into the Gwent levels for the last flat run back to the velodrome.

A nice circular route out to Langstone and back. A mix of traffic free and lanes / flat and hilly - basically a bit of everything

About 6 miles of the route from the start is traffic free. The rest is on quiet country lanes

We will stop an Cabin Cwtch in Langstone for refreshments as well as regular rest points to allow everyone to catch up at the top and bottom of hills.

Please wear a helmet and bring along some money and a lock for the coffee stop. It is also a good idea to carry a spare tube just in case.

We never leave anyone behind
