Happy New Year! It is an easy paced circuit ride from Fisherrow Harbour to Prestonpans and Cockenzie & Port Seton

ROAD TYPES you'll be riding on: Mostly tarmac cycle paths/ cycle lanes/ shared use paths and quiet roads, with short sections on gravel and bumpy tracks. TERRAIN: Hilly only on small sections, and thus manageable to most riders

LUNCH/ COFFEE STOP: Café FILLY inside Cockenzie House & Gardens (may bring your own food/ picnic at outdoors tables, weather dependent) after about three fifths of the route. TOILETS: available at (i) the start & end point at Fisherrow Harbour, (ii) Mercat Gait Centre in Prestonpans (outbound), and (iii) Prestonpans Public Toilets (return)

BRING WITH YOU: Helmet highly advised, at least one spare inner tube suitable for your bike tyres and relevant tools for mechanics, appropriate layers of clothing to keep warm (don't forget gloves), snacks and drinking water, cash/ card if you plan to buy food at the cafe. A roadworthy bike with good brakes is certainly a must. Front and rear bike lights in case you may linger on your way home (est. sunset time: 16:01)

First-timers welcome!
