From the Sport Hub car park, we ride out to the Cheney Manor estate and turn right to join up with the cycle path alongside Akers Way. At the next junction we turn right to follow the Northern flyer route down to Cheney Manor Road.
At the junction with Vicarage Road, we turn right and then turn left into Bessemer Road. After a short distance we turn right into Surrey Road, cross over Ferndale Road and join the cycle path that runs alongside Great Western Way, then becomes Iffley Road.
At the Pelican crossing, we cross the road and continue riding alongside Great Western Way, along the cycle path that then bears to the right heading for West Swindon. After passing under Mead Way we turn left and head for Westlea then using the underpass to cross Great Western Way. At the next pedestrian crossing, we cross Wootton Bassett Road and ride to the old railway line and along it to take us into Old Town.
We cross Marlborough Road, through the Lawns to ride down to Queen’s Drive and then ride alongside it towards the Magic Roundabout. At the pedestrian crossing, we cross over to the County Ground and then cross County Road to ride through Broad Green and up to Station Road. Turning right and then left takes under Great Western Way into Beatrice Street. We turn right into Florence Street, then left into Ferndale Road as we make our way northwards. We continue through the estates to reach Southbrook Street and heading up to the cycle path. This leads us into Pinehurst where we turn West and past Cheney Manor church back onto the cycle path alongside Akers Way and back to Moredon Sports Hub.
We turn left into Chicory Close, then cross Thamesdown Way at the next set of lights to ride the old road, which is now a cycle path. This is a gentle climb up to the new area of Ridgeway Farm. We then follow a cycle path that snakes around Peatmoor, crossing Mead Way via a bridge, then a steep descent brings us to Peatmoor Lagoon. Cycling round the water’s edge we reach Roughmoor Way. We ride along this cycle path which takes us to Shaw Village, then a right turn and passing under Roughmoor Way brings us into Middleleaze Park and then a gentle climb up to Lydiard Park.
