This is a circular ride to Sunnybank Mills in Farsley which is the home of BBC’s “Sewing Bee” and is currently being broadcast. Sunnybank Mills is a repurposed mill complex with a variety of activities including eateries: https://www.sunnybankmills.co.uk/
The ride is 23 miles and less hilly than some with 1650ft of climbs.
The ride is mainly on road but with two canal segments as well as short traffic free sections up to Wrose.
We head away from Shipley up to Wrose before passing through Undercliffe in order to cross the busy Leeds/Bradford road at Thornbury by a light controlled crossing, from where we make our way around Pudsey. After a brief stretch on the busy Tong Road we head back and towards Farsley via Swinnow. After our lunch stop at Sunnybank Mills we head down to Rodley where we pick up the canal as far as Apperley Bridge before taking back roads to Thackley and then dropping back down to the canal at Esholt in order to return to Shipley.

We will stop at Sunnybank Mills in Farsley which has a variety of eateries with both indoor and outdoor seating.

Helmets are a must as is some hi-vis outerwear. Make sure you have a spare inner tube at least and that your brakes, tyres etc are in good condition. Check that the British Cycling website has up to date personal and emergency contact details.
