This is an attempt by me to do a shorter and less hilly ride to encourage as many people as possible to keep riding through the autumn.
The ride is 17 miles long with 1200ft of climbs.
The weather forecast for Wednesday is good and this is a ride from Five Rise Locks to Canal Side Cafe at Kildwick.
The outward journey is all on road once we leave the canal at Crossroads and will go up to East Morton and then along the tops before dropping down into Silsden. We will head out of Silsden to the edge of Kildwick before joining the canal and reaching the cafe.
Our return journey will be along the canal as far as Riddlesden before a familiar section over the canal and past the Scout Activity Centre en route to Granby Lane and then past what was formerly the Isolation Hospital which will take us back to Crossflatts and Five Rise Locks.

Our lunch stop will be at the highly regarded Canal Side Cafe in Kildwick at the midpoint of our ride. https://www.facebook.com/canalsidecafekildwick/?locale=en_GB

Helmets are a must as is some hi-vis outerwear. Make sure you have a spare inner tube at least and that your brakes, tyres etc are in good condition. There are some nice downhills. Check that the British Cycling website has up to date personal and emergency contact details.

We never leave anyone behind
