Meandering to Golden Acre 2026

We take the familiar route from Hirst Wood past Baildon Station and up Old Hollins Hill into Guiseley. We will go along Otley Chevin and on to Bramhope before a shortish stretch on the main road to Golden Acre Park. Suitably refreshed we re-join the main road for another shortish stretch before cycling along quiet suburban streets and past Horsforth Station (and Haus of Coffee) before heading past Leeds Trinity University to join the private road Woodlands Drive. Crossing both the river and canal at Apperley Bridge we join the main road for a brief section before cutting through to Thackley and the quiet but scenic road that takes us into Shipley where we take the canal back to the start.

Opportunity to revisit Golden Acre Park in Bramhope on a 25 mile ride with just less than 2,000 ft of climbs.

Predominantly on road, including a couple of main road sections with canal from Shipley back to Hirst Wood

The café at Golden Acre Park will be our mid-point stop. There is bike parking, extensive indoor and outdoor seating plus the usual amenities.

Helmets of course along with high vis top and weather appropriate clothing and a spare inner tube.
