Starting point

West Yorkshire
BD18 4DD

We will head towards Esholt and Old Hollins Hill before going through Guiseley as far as West Chevin Road. We then head due east to Bramhope with extensive views over the Chevin. We go through quiet suburban streets in Bramhope to minimise time on the main road before arriving at Golden Acre Park. Cycling is not permitted in the park and so we have a short push to the café which will be welcome as the bulk of the climbing has been done. We will walk across the main road and into the car park where we can join the hard packed bridleway that takes us to Cookridge. We rejoin public roads and make our way to Horsforth and head down round Horsforth Hall Park before crossing the main road and following more bridleways running parallel to the river and coming out on the private road of Woodlands Drive. Again the tracks are dry but single file in some places. We will join the canal at Apperley Bridge as far as Buck Lane in Baildon from where we will go up into Baildon and then down to Shipley Glen and along the tramway back to Hirst Wood.
