Meandering to Cliffe Castle

We will go though Saltaire and up towards the top of Moorhead Lane before dropping down to Lee Lane and then through Wilsden to cross Hewenden Viaduct. We will pass through Cullingworth before climbing up to the Guide Inn and dropping down again to Cross Roads. After a brief section of main road we head towards Hainworth and pass through Keighley, including Timothy Taylor's Brewery before a much needed stop at Cliffe Castle. We head up towards Long Lee on our way to and through St Ives Estate before descending again through Harden and into Bingley where we join the canal at Dowley Gap for a short section back to Hirst Wood.

Shortish but hilly ride across the moors heading west from Hirst Wood as far as Cliffe Castle

Mainly quiet roads but with brief main road exposure. There will be some traffic free/lite sections through St Ives Estate, Hewenden Viaduct and on the canal back from Dowley Gap.

We will stop at the café in Cliffe Castle which has both indoor and outdoor seating as well as safe bike parking.

Helmets of course plus weather appropriate clothing and a spare inner tube as a minimum. Make sure your brakes are in good order and those on e-bikes, have a full charge and/or spare battery.
