Starting from - Askham Bar Park and Ride which has a massive free car park and with good facilities. Suggest that park just past the bus pick up and what3words are front.prone.vanish.
The Park and Ride is well signed if you are coming along A64 from Leeds.
The only issue is that two post codes are given YO23 2UB and YO24 1LW. Both seem to work!, YO23 2UB

Starting point

North Yorkshire
YO24 1LW

We follow the York to Riccall Cycle Path, crossing the River Ouse at Naburn Swing Railway Bridge where can be seen the "Fisher of Dreams" wire statue. We go along the Solar System section and after seven miles we turn west to cross the River Ouse(again) at Cawood. We the cross Cawood and Selby Commons before turning east through Selby which has a fine Abbey. Yet again we cross the River Ouse and head eastwards to Cliff Common, again on predominantly quiet rural roads. Continuing on these quiet lanes we had north through Skipwith, Thornaby, Wheldrake and Crockley Hill before a brief section of A19 in order to rejoin the cycle path back to Askham Bar.
I can transport another bike if anyone needs a lift. Contact me on mobile 07717 223141 to discuss or with any queries.

Chance for a different start point and a much flatter ride than usual!

The ride starts and ends on the York-Riccall dedicated cycle path from the Askham Bar Park and Ride in York. The majority of the other roads are very quiet rural roads apart from a short stretch into Cawood that motorcyclists seem to like, and a brief crossing of the A19. We pass through Selby but on Sundays it is quiet.

We will stop for the usual refreshment break. If there is no alternative it will be in Selby but I will update in due course.

Helmets to be worn and the usual spare inner tube and either sunscreen or waterproofs though the forecast is good thus far. My mobile number is 07717 223141 and it may be helpful to save it as messaging through Lets Ride is not that quick, especially with last minute matters

We never leave anyone behind
