Let's Ride - Magor to Newport Wetlands

Starting from - The start point is the free car park next to Magor square. You can usually find a space here but if not, there are additional car parks nearby in Withy Close and Sycamore Terrace (near the Co-op). There is also roadside parking available too. Please note that there are no toilets at the start but Magor services are nearby and we will be able to stop at a toilet after about 3 miles if necessary. NP26 3HY

We will head out of Magor towards Redwick and into the Gwent levels. We cycle through the village and then head towards Goldcliff using lots of lanes with good opportunities to spot wildlife along the way.
When we reach the outskirts of the wetlands we go traffic free as we ride on the path around the perimeter to loop all of the way round to the visitor centre.
After a short break, we head out the main gate and cycle through Nash village. Then it's along Straits Lane to rejoin the lane we came in on. After a few miles, we turn away from that route and head back to Magor through Llandevenny.

A nice flat loop around the Gwent levels suitable for all

The route is mostly on quiet country lanes with a small traffic free section as we ride around the perimeter of the wetlands

We will stop at the wetlands visitor centre for refreshments.

Please wear a helmet and bring some money and a lock for the coffee stop. It is also a good idea to carry a spare tube just in case.
