Magor to Black Rock

We head out of the car park and go past Magor marsh before turning left and heading around the back of Undy to reach the main road. We cross over and then go along Silurian Road to reach Carrow hill. We go over the little hill and then turn right to go over the slightly bigger Highmoor hill before dropping down Dewstow hill and then into the park in Caldicot. We ride through the park and then the castle grounds to reach our coffee stop.
After a short break, we continue to Sudbrook to reach the path to Black Rock. We will have a quick stop here before heading back to Caldicot. From here, we follow NCN 4 to Rogiet and then we have a short (1/2 mile) stretch on a slightly busier road before turning back into the little lanes again. Then it's a couple of short climbs as we skirt around the top of Undy and Magor before dropping back down to return to the start point.

A scenic undulating ride through the countryside and castle grounds to the Black Rock picnic site. We will completing 3 separate loops as we ride.

There are a few small sections that are traffic free. The rest is quiet lanes apart from a short stretch of slightly busier road.

We will stop at Castell Coffi on the way to Black Rock for coffee and Welsh cakes and then again at Black Rock for a photo and to admire the views and amazing sculptures

Please wear a helmet and bring along some money and a lock for the coffee stop. It is also a good idea to carry a spare tube just in case.
