We take the lakeside cycle path out of Llanberis to Brynrefail and on to Llanrug. We ride to Tregarth, riding through Bethel and Pentir. We then head up the Ogwen valley for stunning mountain views. From Capel Curig we then head up to Pen-Y-Pass, before a final descent back to Llanberis.
This ride is weather dependent. We won't ride if there are strong winds (20mph+) or it is pouring with rain.
This ride is 'no frills' as there is NO café stop. We will have some roadside stops to have a drink/snack (bring your own).
Significant proportion on A-roads, some country lanes and a tiny bit on a cycle path.
Ideal for Breeze riders who want to challenge themselves and have fun! And those who are new to Breeze rides are very welcome. The route involves hills (over 500m ascent) and you will be rewarded with beautiful views across the Snowdonia mountains.
Pace will be approx. 20kph (10-12mph). We ride up longer hills at our own pace and regroup at the top. We never leave anyone behind.
I always carry extra supplies (just in case!): sweets; water; period products; first aid kit; and puncture repair patches. So please let me know if you ever need anything.
Please do let me know if there’s anything I need to know or can do to help to make this ride more accessible for you.
