PR8 2BZ

Eco Centre, Old Esplanade, Southport PR8 2BZ opposite Victoria Park.

Starting at the ECO Centre at Southport this ride takes in the cycle routes around Sefton. The ride commences along the old Esplanade before joining the Coastal Road (path) then on to the Cheshire Lines cycle route following this until merging with the trans-pennine route at Maghull. The route then follows the canal tow path to Netherton where we head off through Rimrose Valley Park exiting at Waterloo and travelling towards the waterfront marina. A cake stop at the Waterloo Place Cafe and Gallery at the South Road entrance to the marina. The ride Returns to Southport via Sefton coastal path and the new asparagus trail from Formby to the Squirrel Reserve at Freshfield then continuing through the pine woods to the start point at the ECO Centre. This is a flat ride and is in no way tough, challenging only by way of the distance involved. We'll ride at a steady pace of 10 - 12 mph on this ride and we'll keep our pace at a level so that we can all stay together. Remember, this is not a race, but a leisurely ride at a pace to suit the slowest in the group! Please check your bike over the night before the ride, tyres inflated, all bolts tight, lubricated. Clothing, Helmet & lights checked & ready. Please arrive at least 15 mins before the ride start time, So that we are able to get away at the stated start time Parking can be found at the Park & Ride for a fee of £2.00 or there is free 'onstreet' parking at Beach Road or Rotten Row.
