Loop the Lune! Ladies only

Come and enjoy a fantastic loop of Lancaster on this play away day with us! A must for anyone who enjoys cycling along the canal!
This is a STEADY ride. We use cycle paths and small sections of road but largely the Lancaster canal to explore.

We start at the Lune Millennium Bridge, a cable-stayed footbridge which spans the River Lune in Lancaster. We then cycle along to Morecambe Bay's seafront promenade which offers a classic seaside experience with stunning views of the bay and the Lake District fells. We enjoy a cafe stop in the historic city centre in Lancaster and then along beautiful stretches of the Lancaster canal. We return along some pretty country lanes and cycle paths.

Do bring a snack and drink to have later on. Please ensure your bike is in good working condition. Check your gears and brakes at least the night before. A helmet is needed to join the ride. Carrying your own spare innertubes, tyre levers, pump, a lock is advisable.
Helmets are mandatory on this ride.

You must be a member of Horwich Ride Social to join this ride. Membership is free. If you have not completed a ride participant form previously for one of the HRS rides, You can download one from https://www.horwichridesocial.org/sites/default/files/2024-01/Cycling%20UK%20New%20Club%20Participant%20form%20%281%29.pdf
and email it to [email protected] before the ride. Please return it at least 24 hours before the start of the ride.

Photographs will be taken during the ride which will be shared on our social media. Please let a ride leader know if you would prefer not to appear in any of them.
