From the Orbital car park we cycle out along a bus gate road then on estate roads towards the dual carriageway of Thamesdown Way. We cross Thamesdown Way at a junction with lights, riding along National Cycle route 45. We continue on the 45 crossing 3 junctions, before diverting off along quiet estate roads and rejoining the 45 for a short section to the Blunsdon railway bridge traffic lights passing the Heritage Railway. After the lights there is another short section of road before we turn right into a closed road. After about 1.5 miles we leave the 45 and ride on quiet roads to the B4040. We turn left and after 0.5 mile we turn right to pass through Leigh. From Leigh we ride through quiet lanes and pass some lakes to reach the Spine Road and the cafe. From the cafe we ride along the Spine Road past lakes, passing through Ashton Keynes and Waterhay, heading back to the closed road and retracing our route back to the start.

A morning ride to the Dragonfly, passing by the local heritage steam railway and riding through part of the Cotswold Water Park.

Most of the route is on quieter traffic roads. There is a short section on cycle paths and a closed road too. The route is pretty flat.

We will have a break for refreshments at the Dragonfly.

Please bring a bottle for your bike with your favourite thirst quencher and snacks to keep you going. For all your rides we recommend that you bring a spare inner tube that is suitable for your bike, plus a pump. If your wheels are bolted on, then please bring a spanner that fits your bike’s wheel nuts. You should dress appropriately for the weather and consider bringing your mobile phone along with cash or a debit card. Some places only accept card payments these days.

We welcome anyone to join us and ride with us, whether this is your first time or someone who has participated on previous rides. We will never leave anyone behind.
