Join us this January for a scenic cycling ride starting at the GROWE Bike Library in Failsworth. Explore the historic charm of Park Bridge, ride along the peaceful Ashton Cycleway, and take in the winter beauty of Daisy Nook Country Park. We'll pause for a cozy stop at the café to warm up with hot drinks before heading back. This easy-paced ride is perfect for cyclists of all levels – wrap up and come along for a wonderful winter outing!
The route for this ride primarily follows traffic-free paths and shared trails, offering a mix of surfaces to explore. Starting from the GROWE Bike Library, the roads and paths are largely flat, with some hard-packed trails. As you pass through **Park Bridge**, expect some uneven and potentially muddy sections, especially during the winter months, as this area features natural trails through woodlands. The **Ashton Cycleway** provides a smoother and more consistent surface, ideal for comfortable cycling. However, as we enter **Daisy Nook Country Park**, the terrain transitions to a combination of compacted dirt paths and grassy trails, which can become muddy in wet weather. Riders should be prepared for some soft or slippery patches, particularly near the park’s water features. Overall, the ride is manageable for all levels of cyclists, but a bike with good tires or a hybrid/mountain bike is recommended for handling any muddy sections.
We never leave anyone behind
