We will be leaving Leigh Sports Village via Pennington Flash and joining the canal down to Astley. We leave the canal at Astley and take the quiet roads across Chat Moss to Irlam Station. We will return to Leigh Sports Village via the along the A57 cycleway, the Port Salford Greenway, the RHS Bridgewater paths and the old tram track back to Astley Green, before joining the Bridgewater Canal back to Leigh.

This route involves canal paths, quiet roads, uneven gravel roads, farm tracks and cycle paths.

We will take a break at Irlam Station who serve hot and cold food and beverages

You will need appropriate clothing for the weather. Ideally you should bring cash or card if you intend to purchase refreshments, a spare inner tube, pump, basic tools and a puncture repair kit
