Starting point

Gwynedd
LL55 4HS

Please join me for this introductory ‘ladies night riders’ challenging ride including the Pen Y Pass hill climb, ranked as one of the top hill climbs in North Wales. We start at Llanberis heading straight up the pass. There’s some lumps coming out of Llanberis but the climbing doesn’t really start until you’re through the village of Nant Peris. The climb from this point averages 6% to the top with a maximum grade of 10.2%. Early on, the grade sits at around 3-4%, a nice early warm-up for what’s about to come. Once at the top we are rewarded with great views before plunging back down and descending to Llanberis by retracing our steps.

This right takes place in the dark. You MUST have a front and rear light. There is no street lighting once we leave Llanberis so a bright front light is essential (recommended at least 1500 lumens). Fluorescent clothing is also recommended.

This ride is weather dependent. We won't ride if there are strong winds (20mph+) or it is pouring with rain.

This ride is 'no frills' as there is NO café stop. We will have a roadside stop to have a drink/snack (bring your own).

All on A-roads.

Ideal for Breeze riders who want to challenge themselves and have fun! And those who are new to Breeze rides are very welcome. This ride is classified as ‘challenging’ because it includes the Pen Y Pass hill climb in the dark (over 300m ascent in just 20km of riding), completing the ride at an average pace of approx. 15kph (9mph). Please be sure you are confident that you can keep to this pace before signing up. We ride up hills at our own pace and regroup at the top. We never leave anyone behind.

I always carry extra supplies (just in case!): sweets; water; period products; first aid kit; and puncture repair patches. So please let me know if you ever need anything.
Please do let me know if there’s anything I need to know or can do to help to make this ride more accessible for you.
